Working in the tattoo industry is exciting. However, if you want to grow your business and remain relevant in an ever-changing field, you need to constantly grow and learn from others. Attending a top tattoo convention is an excellent way to see what others are doing and perhaps make a few connections. If you’ve been thinking about attending one of these major trade shows, it makes sense to go to a good one. We’ve gathered some information about two of the top shows this April, which happen to be two of the biggest this year. When you learn about these, you may decide it is time for you to plan a road trip to attend.
The New York Tattoo Show
The weekend of April 20 through the 22nd is a big deal to anyone interested in tattoos and tattooing in the Northeast. The No Limits International Tattoo Expo is held at the Resorts World Casino in Jamaica, New York. This tattoo show bills itself as the greatest tattoo show worldwide. Once you’ve seen it for yourself, you are likely to agree, after all, if you want to attend a tattoo convention, NYC is clearly a great place to go.
Over 250 world renowned tattooists will be attending the show. This includes professionals who have tattooed Hollywood’s elite and those “in the know” about where to go for a great tattoo. In addition to all these well-known tattoo experts, you’ll find dozens of vendor booths, where you can check out the latest and greatest products on the market today. With a huge floor full of booths and meeting opportunities, there is no better place to see where the industry is today and how it may grow and change in the years ahead.
The show is open to interested professionals and aficionados age 18 and older. You can learn more by visiting the Tattoo Expo website or following the event on Facebook or Twitter.
Hell City Tattoo Festival
Surprisingly, the same weekend of the New York Tattoo Show, you’ll find another major tattoo event. Held in Columbus, Ohio, the Hell City Tattoo Festival is a friendly, welcoming event that is more than just a convention or trade show—it is truly an event to remember. Each day of this Columbus tattoo convention there will be performers and contests to captivate attendees and keep you coming back for more.
The Hell City Tattoo Festival is held at the Hyatt Regency Columbus, offering plenty of space for artists, vendors, and other attendees to spread out and find a space to call their own. If you’d like more information on this event or you wish to purchase a ticket, check out the Hell City Tattoo Festival website or connect with the event hosts on social media.
Think Before You Ink
Many artists that travel to shows and conventions don’t know that you need to have the proper insurance in place before tattooing outside of your shop. With Marine Agency’s Tattoo and Body Piercing insurance package, you’ll have liability coverage that automatically follows you to off-site work including exhibiting at shows and fairs. If you have any questions about your insurance coverage or if you should be tattooing at any of these conventions, please give us a call.
